The current login process is to extract the cookie data you have on the Steam Community webpage and paste it into Idle Master Extended. ⚠ BEWARE! Never, ever, share your cookie data ⚠

1. Login to the official Steam Community website in your web browser (NOTE: Steam Store cookies does not work)

2. Find your Steam cookie data in your web browser

   • Alternative 1: Use a cookie editor to find the required cookies (Edge) (Chrome) (Firefox)

   • Alternative 2: Without any browser addon press F12 > Application / Storage > Cookies > Select the Steam website > Find the required cookies

3. Open the Authentication Window to insert your cookie credentials:

   • Alternative 1: Press Log in in Idle Master Extended (version v1.8.0 and above)
   • Alternative 2: Open the settings window (File > Settings) in Idle Master Extended and click on the lock symbol to display the authentication data fields

4. Copy and paste the cookie data from your browser into the fields and press Update:

   • sessionid
   • steamLoginSecure
     • ⚠ NOTE: Never share this cookie with anyone. Never! It is more valuable than your password.
   • steamParental/steamMachineAuth
     • Not required for all accounts, read more below under Troubleshooting

5. Verify that the login was accepted. If not, try the troubleshooting steps described below.

In some situations the sessionid and steamLoginSecure might not be enough to verify your Steam login and you will get the following message:

One of the following will likey help you successfully login with Idle Master Extended:

1. Do you have Family View / parental controls enabled on the Steam account?

   • Fill in the steamParental cookie field.

2. Do you have a cookie steamMachineAuth in your browser cookies?

   • Fill that one into the steamParental cookie field (more info here)

Enter your Steam credentials, and potentially your Steam Guard code (if you have protected your account)
