The host plays an important role. Though primarily responsible for clearing buzzes and awarding points, the host has many other abilities normal users do not.

Game flow

The entire system is useless without a host, as nothing can happen following a buzz. The host may remove buzzes in two ways: by clearing the buzz (sending the clear command) or modifying points (marking an answer as correct, incorrect, a power, or a neg; this is done with the ans command).

Other capabilities

The host may also:

• Make another user host with the host command.
• Kick a user with the kick command.
• Assign players to teams with the teams command.
• Reset the scoreboard with the reset command.
