Error message "failed to copy file" or "incorrect function" when using kaspersky - HoffmannTom/outlookbackupaddin GitHub Wiki

If you are getting the error message “failed to copy file”, perhaps in combination with “incorrect function” and you are using kaspersky software for malware protection, the follwing steps might help:

1. Open Kaspersky Settings
2. Open Protection
3. Open Programcontrol
4. Open Manage Programs
5. right-click and select “add program to group”
6. select the backupexecutor.exe (C:\Program Files (x86)\CodePlex\outlookbackupaddin\BackupExecutor.exe)
7. search the backup executor entry, right-click it and select details and rules
8. navigate to exceptions
9. tick “do not monitor programactivity”
10. save and close
