NEED STATEMENT

Disinfection of surfaces, door accessories like latches, holders or lift buttons is essential to control the spread of the pandemic. A startup is looking to develop a solution for disinfection services.

INTRODUCTION

The process which is used to overcome the effects caused by bacteria is called disinfection. This method can be achieved by using both physical as well as chemical procedures. To avoid the infection due to contaminated surfaces, sterilization is needed while dealing with this bacteria and for this some of the medical equipment's are used.

Existing solutions for Smart Disinfection System

1] SPRAY DISINFECTION ROBOT

This robot is used in medical sterilization which provides open technical platform and supports customization such as Disinfection Autonomous Navigation and Multirobot Interconnection.

The sterilization system used in this robot is new type of dry fog space, the robot achieves sterilization disinfecting the environment around it through Brownian Movement where liquid drops are diffused in air, the size of liquid that is diffused in air is of 10 micrometre in diameter. It ensures that the surface which comes in contact is sterilized completely and is safe.

This is useful at places where many people open doors at offices, schools, restaurants etc.

In this door handle at the end there is a ring situated which has sponge in its inner part and also it has a container for storing disinfectant liquid. Normally when a person opens the door after releasing it the ring situated at one end will start moving to other end and again comeback to its original position thus cleaning the handle with disinfectant.

3] FUMIGATION FOG DISINFECTION MACHINE

These are the disinfectant foggers. These can be used to disinfect the surfaces of rooms, hotels, hospitals within minutes. Disinfectant foggers sprays tiny droplets which settles down on the surfaces thus making it free from infections. These machines are small, large ,portable and also can be easily used in vehicles like cars ,buses etc.

This device is a automated door handle sanitizer. It sprays the disinfectant liquid every 30 minutes. It consists of Arduino, Servomotor, Batteries, Battery holder, and spray bottle as container. This device is programmed in such a way that when it is not in use the device will be in sleep mode which extends the battery life for 13 days. The Servomotor rotates from 0 to 60 degrees and after 2 seconds it comes back to it's original position.

The above hand sanitizer is made out of using components like Arduino Uno, Servomotor and HCSR04 Ultrasonic Sensor. This system is designed in such a way that it gets adjusted to most of the sanitizer bottle. The mechanism it uses is that when there is any disturbance in the line of sight of the sensor, the Servomotor is turned on. The Servomotor press the sanitizer for contactless sanitization.
