You can can configure the personalDNSfilter - DNS filter proxy, to use DNSCrypt without root.

Enable proxy mode

Start DNSCrypt:

Configure pDNSf to use DNSCrypt:

Press Edit and add following: 127.0.0.1::5354::UDP

DNSCrypt can block ads, malicious sites, and prevent DNS tracking.
