Logging/tracing

• Jeff (@toliwaga) implemented logging functionality including test code and configuration and pulled the changes into master
• Next he will work on tracing as a new branch as well
• Ben (@bstabler) to test and update documentation once logging and tracing branches are ready for review

Next Steps

• Complete tracing
• Return to debugging existing code for full model run
